Determining whether a camera is subject to firmware update
From this page, go to the Download Page and enter the serial number written on the bottom of the camera. If your camera is subject to firmware update, the page for downloading the firmware update data will open. Overview of firmware update procedures
Download --- Unpack download data.
1. From the bottom of this page, go to the Download Page.

3.

Unpack the Firmware Update Data (see note 1 below). After the data is unpacked a folder will be created containing the files required for the firmware update.

Create a memory card for the firmware update
4. Double-click the "UploadFirmware" icon included in the folder where the files were unpacked.
5.

Follow the procedures shown in the UploadFirmware window. At this time, load the memory card in the camera and connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable. When the procedures are completed, the file for the firmware update will have been copied onto the memory card in the camera.

6.

Turn the camera off, and then disconnect the USB cable from the camera.

Operate the camera to update the firmware (rewrite the firmware)
7. Turn on the camera in Playback mode.
8. Press the MENU button on the camera, select [Firm Update ...] from the menu, and then press the SET button.
9.

When the screen confirming the firmware version update appears, select [OK] and press the SET button to start rewriting the camera firmware. The camera will be updated to the new firmware version within a few minutes after this process is started.

10.

Start the ZoomBrowser (Windows) or ImageBrowser (Mac OS) software included in the camera kit (see note 2 below).

11.
