Stable viewfinder imagePanningWhen panning, keeping subjects within the autofocus frame can be a challenge due to vertical and/or horizontal movement of the camera. Canon IS lenses equipped with IS Mode 2 or automatic panning detection make this easier by compensating for shake that occurs perpendicular to the direction in which the camera is panned. The result is a clearer viewfinder image, which vastly simplifies this difficult technique. And for photographers who prefer seeing a viewfinder image unaffected by IS, some Canon IS lenses come equipped with IS Mode 3, a new IS setting that only applies compensation during exposure. |
