How can I tell whether my camcorder unit can be updated?

The unit can be updated if the camcorder's firmware version is 1.0.0.0 or 1.0.1.0.
Follow the steps below to check the firmware version.

1.	Set the camcorder to Still Image Playback mode.
2.	Check the firmware.   [ MENU]  [ SYSTEM SETUP]  [FIRMWARE]
3.	Make sure that the firmware version is 1.0.1.0 or earlier.

What improvements were made in this firmware version?

Support for the new VFL-2 Video Flash Light and VL-5 Video Light has been added.

This firmware update is required in order to use the new VFL-2 Video Flash Light or VL-5 Video Light, which are compatible with the Mini Advanced Shoe, with HF10/HF100 camcorders.

* The firmware only needs to be updated once. Once your camcorder's firmware is correctly updated, you will be able to use either the VFL-2 Video Flash Light or the VL-5 Video Light with your camcorder.
