Firmware update Ver.1.0.2.0 provides the following modifications:

Corrects the incompatibility with certain computers that caused occasional errors in transmitting data from the computer to the camera.

Corrects the phenomenon of under-exposure when shooting with Slow Synchro mode enabled.

 

When updating your camera's firmware, please carefully read the precautions that are included with the camera firmware update instructions before starting the camera firmware update process. If an error occurs during the firmware update process, the camera may stop working.

Input the Serial Number of your camera in the box on the bottom of the Download Page, and then click the "submit" button. If your camera needs updating, a screen for downloading the Firmware Update will appear.

You can check the version of your camera's firmware in the [Set]-[Camera Settings] option displayed in the ZoomBrowser EX Camera Window that appears after you connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable. Macintosh users can check their camera's firmware in the [Setup Options]-[Camera Settings] option displayed in the ImageBrowser Camera Window.

A:

When you connect the camera to certain computers via USB, the following events will occur.

  • Inability to transmit data to the CF card inserted in the camera from the computer
  • Inability to edit the data stored in the CF card inserted in the camera with DPOF settings
 
Q: What does "the phenomenon of under-exposure when shooting with Slow Synchro mode" mean?

A:

When Slow Synchro mode is enabled, sometimes, the exposure of the central photographic subject is under-exposed.
